Macropore is a synthetic polymer that controls nitrates and clarifies water in both freshwater and marine aquariums. It can be recharged with a salt solution for freshwater use, or bleach is required, especially for marine aquariums. The resin is placed in a mesh bag within the filter and needs replacement when it stops bleaching white or clarifying the water.
