Reef Buffer™ is designed to safely raise and stabilize the pH in a reef aquarium to 8.3 without the risk of overshooting. Unlike competing products, it uses a specific blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts which results in a higher pK of 8.6. This higher pK is more effective at counteracting the organic acids produced by reef inhabitants, ensuring greater pH stability in a heavily populated system
